Graciegold Puppies

Graciegold golden retrievers are smart, highly biddable, and beautiful. Our puppies are raised in a loving, family environment that enriches them with confidence and adaptability to transition into their new roles with their forever family. We use Jane Killion’s Puppy Culture and Avidog techniques to contribute both to their physical and mental development in their first 8 weeks of life.

Shortly after our puppies are born, from days 3-16, we utilize Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI). This curriculum, preformed during the puppy’s immature stage, uses touch and smell to stimulate their endocrine system and increase their tolerance to stress. ENS and ESI has been shown to have a lifelong impact on the puppies, resulting in better heart beats and cardiovascular performance, stronger immune systems, and stronger adrenal glands. From weeks 3-9, we focus on socialization and behavioral training through desensitization, obstacle challenges, problem solving, new environments, and manding. Week by week, our puppies are exposed to new areas of our home and outdoors, new smells, noises, textures, toys, people, dogs, and other animals. They go on trips into the local community, our church and nearby nursing home. We introduce crate and potty/leash training around 6-7 weeks old. At 49 days of age, we use Volhard’s Puppy Aptitude Testing (PAT) to observe how well each puppy with fit into their prospective home.

Our puppies are resilient and well-adjusted with excellent temperaments. We lay the foundation that translates to their future successes and well-being.
